Company History
Community Management Advisors, Inc. (CMA) was incorporated on December 1, 2021, formed by the merging of staff from two firms, F. David Sylvester & Associates, Inc, and Community Management Professionals, LLC. Both predecessor firms had been in the community management business since the 1980s.
F. David (Dave) Sylvester, CMCA®, PCAM®, owner and CEO of both merged firms, has been involved in community association management since the 1980s. With regards to education and background, Dave has a B.S.B.A. Degree in Marketing (and a Minor in Business Management) from Robert Morris University. He has also earned the AMS (Association Management Specialist) and the CMCA (Certified Manager of Community Associations) designations, and the prestigious PCAM (Professional Community Association Manager) designation, the ultimate achievement in the community association management profession. He is also a CPM (Certified Property Manager). In addition, all of our community managers have earned the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA®) designation. And, CMA has achieved the Accredited Association Management Company (AAMC®) designation.
CMA has its base of operations at the Airport Professional Office Center in Moon Township, PA, at the same location that its predecessor firm Sylvester & Associates, has had since 1990. The newly formed firm manages over 125 communities comprising 10,000+ individual units within 3 counties.
Community Management Advisors, Inc. is instrumental in providing ongoing education for not only its staff, but also Board members. We are active in training and education, and have historically used the most up-to-date management software. Our company is active with the Community Associations Institute (CAI), an international organization supporting our industry, dedicated to fostering well managed, vibrant and harmonious community associations.
